Bernardo Castro on the ABC Television Network's "The City"
Philip Anthony joined the cast of the newest ABC Daytime drama "The City" in November 1995 as Bernardo Castro. Bernardo is a building superintendent who dreams of owning his own greeting card business. Although he bears a tough New York exterior, Bernardo is a romantic at heart, carrying a torch for resident supermodel Azure C.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Anthony has been performing since the age of ten in commercials and movies. He studied theater and dance at the State University of New York at Purchase which led to his Broadway debut as Ritchie Valens in "The Buddy Holly Story," a role for which he was honored by The New York Drama League for his "Distinguished Performance."
Anthony has previously had guest starring roles on "Loving" and "All My Children." He has also guest starred on "New York Undercover."
A sports enthusiast, Anthony enjoys football, baseball and tennis. Bilingual in Spanish, Anthony is also a personality impersonator. His repertoire includes James Mason, Sammy Davis, Jr., Charlton Heston and William Shatner.
